Parking Management Center --> Parking Area Equipment:
loading zone application info

Definitions

loading zone application info (Information Flow): Loading zone application information including loading zone parking configuration and associated parameters and thresholds that control the algorithms that monitor loading zone occupancy and the loading zone information that is delivered. This flow also supports remote control of the application so the application can be taken offline, reset, or restarted.

Parking Management Center (Source Physical Object): The 'Parking Management Center' manages one or more parking lots by providing configuration and control of field infrastructure, user account management and interfaces with financial systems to manage payment. This p-object takes the back office portion of the Parking Management System's functionality as it was defined in ARC-IT 8.3 and prior.

Parking Area Equipment (Destination Physical Object): 'Parking Area Equipment' provides electronic monitoring and management of parking facilities. It supports an I2V link to the Vehicle that allows electronic collection of parking fees and monitors and controls parking meters that support conventional parking fee collection. It also includes the instrumentation, signs, and other infrastructure that monitors parking lot usage and provides local information about parking availability and other general parking information. The two primary approaches to monitoring parking area usage are sensing vehicles within parking spots or counting vehicles as they come in and as they leave the area. This portion of the functionality must be located in the parking area where it can monitor, classify, and share information with customers and their vehicles. See also the separate 'Parking Management Center' physical object that may be located in a back office, remote from the parking area, which interfaces with the financial infrastructure and broadly disseminates parking information to other operational centers in the region.

Communication Solutions

  • (None-Data) - Secure Internet (ITS) (32)
Solutions are sorted in ascending Gap Severity order. The Gap Severity is the parenthetical number at the end of the solution.

Selected Solution

(None-Data) - Secure Internet (ITS)

Solution Description

This solution is used within Australia, the E.U. and the U.S.. It combines standards associated with (None-Data) with those for I-I: Secure Internet (ITS). The (None-Data) standards include an unspecified set of standards at the upper layers. The I-I: Secure Internet (ITS) standards include lower-layer standards that support secure communications between ITS equipment using X.509 or IEEE 1609.2 security certificates.

Note that some layers might have alternatives, in which case all of the gap icons associated with every alternative may be shown on the diagram, but the solution severity calculations (and resulting ordering of solutions) includes only the issues associated with the default (i.e., best, least severe) alternative.

Interoperability Description
Local In cases where an interface is normally encapsulated by a single stakeholder, interoperability is still desirable, but the motive is vendor independence and the efficiencies and choices that an open standards-based interface provides.

Basis This information flow does not contain any secret data. Information such as the loading zone operational areas will intentionally be broadcast at a later point. This may be raised if it contains sensitive data, as determined by the supplier (for example, because this flow contains proprietary or security-sensitive information about the device). The geofenced loading zone areas must be tracked accurately, otherwise a loading functions may occur in areas not expected, and personnel may be exposed to safety dangers because they are in areas they not expected to be. However, inaccurate information here does not directly lead to the injury of a crew member because there are other indicators of where the incident work zone is. This data should be received in a timely manner after it is sent. This will determine which lanes are blocked off for maintenance vehicle use.
