Physical Object: Connected Vehicle Roadside Equipment
RSE Infrastructure Monitoring
'RSE Infrastructure Monitoring' collects environmental situation (probe) data from passing vehicles that are equipped with short range communications capability with particular focus on measures that may indicate infrastructure condition. The collected data includes current environmental conditions as measured by on-board sensors (e.g., ambient temperature and precipitation measures) and current status of vehicle systems that can be used to infer infrastructure condition (e.g., status of ABS, traction control systems, vertical acceleration measures) as reported by the vehicle. This functional object also supports short range communications with maintenance and construction vehicles, providing local control and monitoring of infrastructure sensors.
This functional object is included in the "Connected Vehicle Roadside Equipment" physical object.
This functional object is included in the following service packages:
This functional object is mapped to the following Functional View PSpecs:
|01||The field element shall collect environmental situation data from passing vehicles.|
|02||The field element shall communicate with maintenance and construction vehicles, providing local control and monitoring of infrastructure sensors.|
|03||The field element shall collect infrastructure conditions data from local infrastructure sensors.|
|04||The field element shall send infrastructure situation data, collected from equipped connected vehicles, to the maintenance center.|
Currently, there are no standards associated with the functional object itself though the interfaces may have standards associated with them.
