1.2.7.7: Process Vehicle Safety and Environmental Data for Output

This process shall output data about the conditions on roads and freeways based on inputs from environmental probes and safety systems in vehicles in addition to local sensor data. The data shall be processed, formatted, and output by the process for reception by those vehicles that are passing the deployed instance of this process (e.g. by short range communications). This process shall broadcast messages to indicate unsafe road conditions that may warrant a reduced speed in order to remain safe. This process shall receive roadway geometry and location/position fix information concerning the layout of intersections (lane locations by type), curvature, other special roadway features for other processes and broadcast that data to vehicles for them to support on-board location based services. This process shall send notifications to processes within or adjacent to the signal controller to indicate what the messages are being transmitted in order to determine if there is a conflict.
